For Valentine's Day, or any day, let baby discover different colors and shapes with touch and feel textures that they can stroke and tickle with DK’s Baby Touch and Feel: I Love You (Published December 2016; $5.99) Little ones will love touching soft teddy bears, smooth roses, sparkly ribbons, and more all while fine tuning their motor skills.
With simple images that are clearly labeled, and an amazing range of novelty textures, Baby Touch and Feel books capture the attention of the very youngest children and create an experience they'll want to repeat again and again.
I'm all about promoting reading at an early age. Although they may not be able to read the words themselves, quality time spent with little ones reading to them is an important foundation to early learning.
Baby Touch and Feel: I Love You is a small padded board book for the littlest ones in your life. Within the pages are pictures of realistic animals and objects. Children will see pictures of teddy bears, kittens, puppies, and bunnies, among other things. The sentences are short, with the words written in bold black font. Most pages have a "touch and feel" with different textures. For instance, babies can feel the softness of a puppy's fur. Other pages have bright foil colors. The last page gives a special touch with a mirrored image that baby can look in to see their self.
Along with the sensory aspect of the book, parents can use it to talk to their little ones about what the objects are in each page or count out how many items are within a certain group. The book is little enough to fit in baby's hands. The illustrations are cute, and it's a nice beginner book to start out with very young children.
Two people will each win a Baby Touch and Feel: I Love You children's book.
