It's National Barbie Day

Barbie Millicent Roberts, better known as Barbie doll, is recognized internationally for her small stature, love of all things pink, and those tiny high heels. She is so popular that three Barbie dolls are sold every second.

I know there are die-hard Barbie fans and collectors out there. I'm not one of them. However, I enjoyed playing with Barbies as a kid and buying them for my girls when they were littler. Even now, I like browsing through the toy section in stores to see the new Barbies that are available.

Caught my friend, Becky, playing with Barbies when she came over to visit. Guess I wasn't good enough company! - 2015

What's your take on Barbie?  Are you a fan?

I did not have a Barbie when I was young but I am buying them for the girls. I love the variety of styles.

Terra,

I wouldn't say I'm a "Barbie" fan but I loved playing with them as a kid and naturally I got them for our daughters when they were small. It's like a right of passage or something to have a Barbie doll. How cool to learn the original Barbie (the model this popular toy is created from) has my maiden name. WOW, she must be alright! Thanks for reminding me of sweet memories and have a gr8 day!

I wasn't a big fan of Barbie when my daughters were younger. I found it to be such a pain to dress them and my daughter's didn't have the patience for it either.

I loved playing with the couple of Barbies I had as a child. I used to make clothes for them. A cousin gave me her cardboard Barbie house when she got a new improved one. When I hit my teens I passed the Barbies on to my little sister who had a great time playing dress up with them. 50 years later I love wandering the Barbie aisle when we go shopping just to see what the latest one is. I'm always amazed at all the cool stuff Barbie has.

Growing up, I loved playing with my Barbie dolls! I had a few, the house and clothes. I still collect a few, especially the Holiday Barbie!

I loved Barbies growing up and would totally still love to play with them along side my daughter, but she's more into worms, dirt, etc. Oh well I still can get her to play with Monster High Dolls!!!
