It's National Nurses Day

Nurses often don't get due credit.  They're usually overstaffed and overworked.  It takes a special kind of person to be a nurse.  They have to make decisions, think on their feet, mediate for family, and care for patients.  And, that's just part of the criteria.

My mother was hospitalized umpteen times during the last two years of her life.  Although there were a couple of bad seeds, the majority of nurses went above and beyond.  It wasn't only her (the patient) they cared for; Often times, they also took care of me.  I spent more hours than I care to count by her bedside and the nurses made sure I had bedding and beverages.  They listened to me groan and moan, and they heard my cries.

Attention Nurses:  From May 6-12, healthcare professionals can get a free treat from Cinnabon. Consumers will have a choice of a free classic roll, a MiniBon or a four-piece BonBites. A medical ID badge must be presented in order to redeem this freebie.

Take time today to thank a nurse.  They deserve it!

Nurses do so much...they are directly involved in patient care, unlike doctors, who just write out orders and then leave before you can even ask them a question. God bless all nurses!

I didn't realize there was a Nurse's Day! They totally deserve it! I have a chronic illness that was super-hard to diagnose and has caused me to be hospitalized many times, especially when I was younger. I swear, the nurses were the only way my family and I stayed sane during that time. Even the nurses I encountered that weren't awesome during an encounter, they always redeemed themselves in another situation. God bless them!

I also feel that Nurses certainly deserve more credit then they get. They are so important and to me this is really a hard job. We need them for sure.

I agree with you that nurses are well under-appreciated. My mom and many of my aunts are nurses and they work so hard.
