Random Tuesday Thoughts - Cats and Mission Trips

I love linking up with Stacy Uncorked to do Random Tuesday Thoughts.  If you want to post your randonmess, check out her site and link along.
------------------------
Mother's Day was very minimalist around here.  Logan bought me a small cactus.  Surely I can't kill that, can I?!  Adam is going to build me a pallet couch within the next couple of weeks.  Shelby and I are in the plans to get matching tattoos.  Jason offered to take me out to eat or cook what I wanted.  I was craving a cheeseburger with egg on top, and he made one up for me.

Jason got this motorcycle under the guise that it was my Mother's Day gift.  I wasn't born yesterday, boy!

That's okay.  I got a cat from a friend under the guise that it was his graduation gift.  Guess that makes us both even.

My bestie is moving and can't take her whole menagerie of animals with her.  Out of the umpteen animals she owns, I agreed to take Trader Jimmy.  He's a male cat a little less than a year old.  Which surprises me because I would've swore he was much older.

Helen (the dog) could've cared less from the get go.  As long as she gets attention, she doesn't care who or what is in the house.  Misty (my cat) was pissed and hissed.  She went on a hunger strike for a couple of days and was none too happy.

Now, though, all seems well and they all three are gonna live happily ever after.  At least, that's my hope.
Trader Jimmy likes selfies.
------------------------------
I got a couple of big things checked off my list for the upcoming mission trip to Ecuador.  I went to the doctor and got the required Hep A and Typhoid shots.  I also turned in the application for a Passport book.  Jason can't get his done until he gets a certified birth certificate back from the county he was born in.
----------------------
I went with some friends to watch The Case for Christ in theater a couple weeks ago.  I already have the faith so it didn't sway me any differently, but I thought it was interesting for a debate.  It's based upon a true story about an atheist who set out to prove that Christ isn't real.  After some digging, he determined that it takes a bigger leap of faith to be an atheist than a Christian, and he converted.  Pretty interesting movie.

May 10th was my 8-year Blogiversary!  Wow, hard to believe I've been in it this long.  Thanks to all readers, old and new, who are a part of my corner of the blog world.

What's your randomness for the week?

Today was going to be my quilting group day but it was cancelled because not enough could make it for the effort it takes. We set up at church. One wonderful talented lady brings three sewing machines, has all the pieces cut and helps us piecing the tops of quilts together. It is a LOT of work for to set that up for only a couple of us that could make it. We make quilts for long term illness children in our local Children Hospital. I will figure something out to do today.

Happy Blogiversay!

I am not an atheist by no means, but I don't go to church either. Never found one that felt "right" for me, and admittedly, I have stopped looking. But I would love to watch that movie when it comes to DVD.

Trader Jimmy is GORGEOUS and I love his little white sock feet. Cats are definitely like M&Ms and potato chips; you can't have just one! One more and I think you officially earn Crazy Cat Lady status (I have 3 cats, so I know this first hand.)

Awwww, what a cute kitty! I hope he is adjusting well... or I guess I should say your other cat is by now. :)

I haven't seen the movie yet, but my husband and I did read the book. An amazing story. We will definitely be watching it at some point.
Happy 8 years!!! Gosh, I think I've been going about that long too. Although it's been a busy year and sporadic lately, but still here. :)

HA! I love when something is purchased under the 'guise' of being a gift for say, Mother's Day, when we know who it's *really* for. ;) My hubby does that every once in a while...cracks me up! Nice bike, though!

And OMG! KITTY!!!!! Such a cutie!! So yeah, you're even. ;) Glad you had a great Mother's Day! :)

What a pretty kitty! I hope you love yours as much as I love mine. They make great pets. I really want to see that movie. It's based on the book by the same name written by C. S. Lewis about himself (same author as the Narnia books). Thanks for coming by my random post!
