QUICK OVERVIEW:
Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is ask for help! Encourage your little ones with the true meaning of bravery through the beautiful story of Lizzy the Lioness by New York Times bestselling author Lisa Bevere.
My Review:
A hardcover book with adorable illustrations and font that draws attention, Lizzy the Lioness tells of a lioness that is little in stature but wants to be big and brave like the others in her pride. Lizzy has an adventurous spirit and wants to explore, but is often told to be careful. One day Lizzy happens upon a little girl with her mother. Lizzy observes the child and notices that they are a lot alike. After some time passes, the little girl becomes surrounded by baboons. Lizzy knew she couldn't fight them off all by herself so she ran to get help from her lion family. They came to the little girl's rescue. Although Lizzy didn't directly save the girl from the baboons, she was brave by asking for help.
The story is one of bravery, if even in a small sense. There's a page after the story with discussion and questions to encourage talk about how children can be brave and what they can do if they notice someone being mean.
Win It!One person will win a Lizzy the Lioness children's book.
