My Review

I'm no stranger to divorce.  I went through one sixteen years ago.  Brad and I had three children, so that didn't make the process any easier.  I was one of those "just get the divorce done and over with" types.  I didn't want to put up a fight, and a lot of that came back and bit me in the butt.

Although I don't think there's such thing as a perfect divorce, Soon To Be Ex: A Guide To Your Perfect Divorce & Relaunch is a great resource for anyone who is planning or in the process of taking that big step.  The author is a divorce lawyer and offers tons of information from the beginning to the aftermath of divorce.  Tons of topics are covered, from child support and custody to financial disclosures and marital property.  Although it covers the law, this book is written in a way that the average person can understand.  The author is a lawyer in New York so most of her scenarios deal with the rules and regulations from that state, but the reader can get a general idea of what to do and what not to do.  This book doesn't take the place of a proper divorce attorney, but it will help guide the way.  I definitely could have used all the advice and tips when I was breaking it off with my ex.
