Reader's Digest Mind Stretchers Puzzle Book Vol.2 - Review and giveaway

I received book for review from Dalyn Miller Public Relations.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinions and results may differ.

Book Overview:

Crosswords, word searches, trivia, logic and numerical games—these teasers are all designed to inspire and stimulate the mind.

ACTIVATE your thinking muscles. It’s too easy just to turn on the TV and let the images of the day wash over us, leaving brain cells unchallenged and a bit sad. Keep your brain happy with this mind stretching collection of puzzles. Crosswords, word searches, trivia, logic and numerical games—these teasers are all designed to inspire and stimulate the mind. So turn off the dreaded box and turn to Mind Stretchers—you’ll be entertained, learn new things, wake up your brain and it’s definitely more fun than watching the news.

My Review:

Research has shown that doing brain teasers on a regular basis challenge and exercise your brain, while improving memory and strengthening cognitive ability.  I think most of us have a preference of which brain teasers we gravitate toward.  For me it's word searches, fill-it-ins, and mazes.  I don't do so well with Sudoku or number grids.  That doesn't mean I won't give them a try though.

Reader's Digest Mind Stretchers Puzzle Book Vol.2 is chock full of varying puzzles, mazes, crosswords, word searches, and more.  There's plenty to keep you busy and challenged for a long time.  The book itself is spiral bound and the pages are of good quality.  Each page has a large activity, with a total of 74 to complete.  There's also a smaller challenge on the bottom of each page.  If you get stuck or want to double check what you're doing, the answers are located at the back of the book.  I've worked on several of the puzzles and still have quite a few more to go.  The Reader's Digest Mind Stretchers Puzzle Book Vol.2 definitely stretches my mind and makes me think.  I enjoy the attempt at completing the challenges and feel accomplished when I do.
