QUICK OVERVIEW:
How do I know the Bible is true? What does the Bible mean by “the kingdom of God”? How can God be three persons at the same time? Help the kids in your life find answers to their questions and deepen their faith with 365 Bible Answers for Curious Kids, a unique daily devotional full of biblical answers about God, the Bible, and Christian faith.
My Review:
I don't claim to know everything about the Bible or the Christian faith. I know that I believe fiercely in both. I'd like to say that I'm "average" when it comes to knowledge about the Bible and Jesus. I'm no scholar by any means but know enough to answer the basic questions.
As an adult, I still wonder and ask about the history, teachings, and miracles surrounding Jesus. So I can only imagine that children have as much wonderment, if not more. 365 Bible Answers for Curious Kids is an amazing resource to go to when your child has a question. It's also a great devotional for your child to delve into. In other words, a child's faith can be nurtured by reading a devotion each day. Or they can use this book as a resource when they have a specific question.
Reading through 365 Bible Answers for Curious Kids, I learned a wealth of information myself. The topics covered are extensive and interesting. But, they're worded in ways that middle school children will understand.
Just some of the questions answered in this book are:
What is the Temptation of the Christ?
What is the difference between a disciple and an apostle?
Is it okay to write in my Bible?
What are the Twelve Tests of Abraham?
What are the Epistles?
The devotional is sectioned into groups of index topics. They are:
Time
God
God's Promises
Jesus
God's Holy Spirit
The Bible
The Bible: Old Testament
The Bible: New Testament
Christianity
Prayer
The Church
Christian Seasons, Holidays, and Traditions
Being a Christian Here and Now
Being a Christian Forever and Ever
Big Questions
Famous Christians
Like I said, it's pretty comprehensive! I will admit there are a few devotions that I don't particularly care for and that's because they don't align specifically with my Christian faith. For instance, I don't believe in praying to other saints and holidays that honor saints. I do recommend that an adult read this book before their child or alongside with them to maybe discuss practices that aren't a part of your teachings.
365 Bible Answers for Curious Kids is a hardcover book that includes a ribbon marker. Each of the devotions have a date at the top, a topic of discussions, a commentary from the author with a scripture verse or two, and a short prayer. At the very bottom of each devotion you will find references to pages that may direct you to another day pertaining to that same topic.
