Rotary phones and VCRs can be considered pretty much obsolete. I'm okay with that. However, I'm not okay with analog clocks being antiquated. My kids are older now but I was in shock when I learned that my two boys weren't taught how to read an analog clock when they were in school. If that wasn't enough, they only had to learn minimal cursive. There's just some things that should be taught, regardless of the ages.
I know we live in a digital age but there's times when knowing how to read a clock is important. Seconds, minutes, and hours come in handy for a lot of things. "Quarter to" and "half past" should be part of a child's vocabulary.
The clock itself is silent, so it won't be disruptive at any point. One AA battery is included with the clock. The clock is split in quarters so kids can easily learn terms like quarter past, half past, and quarter to. The hour, minutes and second hands are marked.
Just like most anything else, it takes time and patience to teach a child how to tell time. An adult will need to explain to them what the numbers represent and the words mean. With the way the clock is laid out, it shouldn't be too hard for a child to comprehend how to tell time. Using this clock also gives kids a visual of how long they have before something happens. For instance, a parent may tell their child that they can play a video game at a quarter past three. The child can visually look at the clock and count down the time while mentally processing it.

There are some intelligent young people who simply do not know how to tell time on a clock like this. They have only known digital their entire lives and this lesson clock may be necessary some day...
Number 5
I am going to say 4 because I homeschool 4 kids and want this!!!!
I've never really had a lucky number, but my husband's family is very superstitious about the number 13. Because of this, and because his birthday is 12-12, he always uses the number 12 and it seems to be lucky for him.
This clock is amazing. We are trying to explain the concept of time to my oldest as she is just starting preschool. This makes it super easy!
