My Stay at Staybridge Suites

A couple weeks ago Jason and I made a visit to Knight's Action Park in Springfield, IL.  It's only an hour and half drive so we could've headed up that day, but decided instead to splurge a little and stay in a hotel the night before.  We chose Staybridge Suites South.

Like the name suggests, the entire place is suites.  There wasn't necessarily any reason for us to stay in one since it was just the two of us but, hey, we only live once!

The suite itself was pretty nice.  It had a mini kitchen area complete with fridge, microwave, toaster, dishes, hand towels, and more.

It's rare that I'm a fan of hotel beds but I slept amazingly well in the king-size bed.  I even took a nap in it the next day before I left.  The living room area and bedroom both had their own TVs.
Watkins soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower

I only have two complaints about our stay.  The first is that our room phone didn't work.  Which isn't exactly a big deal in this age of cell phones.  Except, we needed to call room service to get the air conditioner fixed.  Jason hightailed it to the lobby to explain the situation (which is that the thermometer had a "low battery" reading).  After being second-guessed and several housekeepers coming in to try to solve the problem, batteries finally arrived and the room cooled down.

I was impressed with the outdoor seating and atmosphere.  The place has a full-size basketball court (of which I played no amount of basketball!)  There's also two gas grills to cook your own food (of which I cooked none!).

We also didn't swim or check out the fitness center.

What we did do was attend Social Hour.  We weren't aware until check-in but the place has free food and drink every Monday through Thursday for two hours in the evening.  That night was a salad bar and meatball sliders.  There was no need to go out to eat!

I'm not much into beer or wine but that's the free drinks they had to offer.  So, I was into wine that night.  Might have had one or two or six glasses.

Yeah, I'd stay there again.

Have you ever stayed at a Staybridge Suites location?

I haven't stayed at one, but it sure looks nice! It's wonderful staying at a hotel, suite, cabin, or condo. Any place, but home for a night or two!

I haven’t stayed in a suite quite like this one, but if I did it would be hard for me to leave. If I ever travel to Springfield, IL or any other city/state that has Staybridge Suites i will definitely be staying there.

I haven't stayed there, but it does look cozy. A little home away from home. I like that they offer grills and free weeknight food!
