Random Tuesday Thoughts - Forts and Orchards

It's Tuesday, which means another week of randomness with Stacy Uncorked.  Misty the kitty pleads with you to join along.

I spend my work shifts answering phones and radio traffic.  That's my excuse for rarely answering my personal phone or voice mails when they come in.  I checked my voice mails for the first time in ages.  Got one on Sept. 12th from Hyvee saying I was one of their text-to-win winners of a $70 Hyvee gift certificate but I only had 48 hrs. to reply or they'd redraw. I didn't listen to the VM till ten days later.  As you can guess, someone else got the win.

I went to one of the local orchards the other day with Jason.  It was kinda busy so we didn't stay long.  I ended up purchasing a bag of apples, caramel sauce, apple butter, and a fresh apple slushie.

The fresh apple slushie was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!  I have to get back there for another one...and soon.

Adam and Logan in front of Adam's new crib

Adam moved from his teeny-tiny apartment to a larger two-bedroom house.  It's a cute place and I'm already thinking of "guy" things to buy him for Christmas to spruce it up.  He and a roommate (not Logan) are living there.  I like his roomie okay but I'm not so sure how it's gonna work out.

Birthday World episode

Allyson, Juliann and Adam were reminiscing about their childhood when they were hanging out at the house.  They started talking about the Ronald McDonald VHS movies they'd watch all the time.  (I remember them all too well!  The shows were played over and over and over again.)

I purchased each and every Ronald McDonald VHS when they came out.  It was back in the day when you could purchase promotional items at McDonald's.  "I'd like a Ronald McDonald movie with my cheeseburger please."

Thanks to YouTube, we were able to find a couple of the episodes.  It was quite amusing to see the three of them as young grown adults watching a show from their childhood.

What's even better is when Emma got there that night, and her and Allyson made a fort in the living room out of chairs, blankets, and a hammock.  Then sleep in it!

Jamie, Jason and Rick
(aka Moe, Larry and Curly)

I've spent the last two Sunday evenings at ministry meeting suppers at church.  Jason has taken on two more roles, one as a Section Leader and another as a Greetings Ministry Leader.  He is one of three who will be heading up all three services.

Watching Jamie, Jason and Rick interact is hilarious.  They are professional and top-notch when need be but act like the Three Stooges when they're together and have down time.

I spent hours upon hours in the main kitchen on both Sundays helping prep the suppers.  In the end, I got a fantastic meal so no complaints here.

Sounds like you were very busy in your neck of the woods. Boy would I love to have one of those apple slushes, it looks remarkable. It's been really gloomy and rainy here the last couple of days. It makes me want to sleep all day.

Oh no! I'm sorry you missed out on your Hyvee win! That sounds like something I would do, I'm so not a phone person, and stall listening to voicemails (unless the caller ID shows someone important - or, you know, someone I actually *know*).

Ooooh! Apple slushie sounds delightful!!

Congrats to Adam's new home! Keep us posted on how the roomie works out. Momma knows best!

I love that your kids revisit their childhoods. There's hope for Princess Nagger and Little Dude! :)

I also love that your hubby and his friends are like the Three Stooges - bet they make you laugh a lot! ;)

I'm very happy fall is here - it's my favorite time of year, hands down! :)
