Random Tuesday Thoughts - Dinners and Craft Shops

It's Tuuuuesssday.  Link up your randomness at Stacy Uncorked.  Misty Cat insists.

Last Saturday a birthday party was held for my niece, Ayala, who turned 8.  She made out like a bandit!  November and December are busy months for birthdays.

Jason and I visited a friend's shop Sunday afternoon.  The husband and wife team craft everything from rag dolls and wooden signs to tables and hutches.  I spent a good share in there and plan on going back to buy Christmas gifts.

Me, Jason and Oscar

Last Wednesday Jason and I attended the One Missions Conference at church.  The nine missions that our church supports were there to talk about who they are and what they do.  We got to visit with Oscar from Pan de Vida - Ecuador.  It had been almost a year since we last seen him, when we were working for him in Ecuador.  It is our hope that we can go back there for a mission trip in 2019.

Me and Ashley
The bar is shoddy but the food is amazing.

Me and Shelby, along with my niece Ashley, were stoked to try out a new restaurant called Carnival Cravings.  We set up a date and time to try it out.  The menu boasts all sorts of fried foods and carnival treats.  Crap thing is, the place was closed.  Not ones to be deterred from junk, we went to a local bar and ordered piled high plates of fried food.  Mushrooms, cauliflower, corn nuggets, cheese balls, onion rings, curly fries.  It was Amazing.  Bar food is the best.

Shelby recommended a show to me on Hulu called 'Lie to Me'.  Figured I'd check out an episode or two.  Now me and Jason are hooked and have been binge-watching it.
-----------------
Thursday I noticed I was tagged in a FB post.  It was Shelby, with this to say:

"Today I was walking into a store and saw my reflection in the window and all I could think was dang I look like my mother!!! But look at her!!! She’s gorgeous and one of the strongest women I know. When she was my age she had 3 kids under the age of 8. So if I pick up her weird dressing habits and inherit her beauty and brains...I am one lucky girl!! Love you moommy!!!"

Awww....made my heart melt.

What's your randomness for the week?
Have you watched Lie To Me on Hulu?
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I'm off work for 4 days.  Whoop! Whoop!

I have seen Lie to Me. I watched it when it first aired years ago and loved it. I've been meaning to rewatch it on Hulu for awhile. Another one I really like is Life. It stars Damian Lewis. I think it's on Hulu. It only ran for two seasons and ends with a bit of a cliffhanger.

I am off this week too, hurrrah! I don't remember Thanksgiving Break ever being this long for me or the kids, but I'm not complaining. That is sweet about your friend's reflection moment. :) I hope you get to go on your mission trip. March is our big month for birthdays over here, and my newest granddaughter will be born that month too. :) Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Hope you had a Happy Turkey Day!
The incident at Carnival Cravings sounds JUST like something my friends/family and I would do. Restaurant being open..tiny detail we might miss!

What a sweet facebook post! I sometimes look in the mirror and see my mother. It used to irritate me, but I also see the strong women she has become and embrace it now.

Hope you and your family had a lovely Thanksgiving!

I look in the mirror and see my mother as well, but she is one sweet lady so it doesn't bother me!
