large crowd on the football field listening to worship music and a special sermon
This year, for the first time, the church I attend held its Thursday evening service at the local college football field. Interviews with an older and a younger veteran were played, and service men and women were recognized. Before and after the service, attendees were able to ride horses, jump in a bounce house, play football, and purchase food from mission trip vendors.
My son is smiling because he's all sweaty from playing football and gave me a big, stanky hug. Urgh, kids!
Since I plan on going to a mission trip to Cambodia in March 2020, I helped with our first fundraiser. Our team sold lemonade and strawberry shakeups, glow sticks, and Toy Story cookies.

Since I had spent so many hours working the booth and attending service, I did not attend any fireworks shows afterwards. I went home and stayed for a bit before going to a friend's house to hang.

How was your 4th of July? How did you spend it?
Have any fundraiser ideas to raise funds for a mission trip?

Good luck with the 2020 trip to Cambodia! That will be incredible!
It sounds like it was a nice day! We spent the day with my family at my parents' house. Lots of food and swimming.
How awesome to be headed to Cambodia in March!! I think it looks like you had a nice, busy day. For the first time ever we opted to stay in and not watch the fireworks. We played Monopoly instead. :)
That is funny that he hugged you a sweaty. Ha! I love it!
