Referencing the Shania Twain song, I'm hoping to "Feel Like A Woman" soon. My body's been put through the ringer and I'm ready to feel better. Any day now.....
As many of you know, I had two surgeries in December. One was scheduled, the other emergency. The doctor thought that would fix a lot of my issues. And it did.....for a month. I started bleeding again like a stuck pig in a slaughterhouse and haven't been feeling right. So, the doctor ordered a DiVinci Surgery to remove my uterus and cervix. In other words, a hysterectomy with the aid of robotic arms.
The surgery took place yesterday. My stomach has five small incisions. Looks like I've got the map to Route 66 going on my abdomen. Dr. found out I suffer from Endometriosis and that's likely the cause of what's been my problem. She removed that as well as my other lady bits. I still have my ovaries, in the hopes I don't go into early menopause.
To top it off, the doctor found a spot in my nether regions that caused her concern. She cut it off and sent it off to labs. If the spot comes back cancerous (or even pre-cancerous) , I will be having another surgery to remove all other spots in that area. In addition to the marks on my stomach, I now have stitches between my vajayjay and butthole. I can't make this stuff up!
At this point, I'm not sure how much more can be removed. Throughout the years, I've become a game of Operation. Just lay me out and take it out!
Have you ever had a hysterectomy? Have any suggestions for quick recovery? I've already got the pain pills, belly band, and Gas-X on hand. And a husband that must really love me!
