Fire Dept. Coffee and Espresso - Review

I'm no virtuoso when it comes to coffee.  I'm a simple layman that knows what I like and don't know much about the science behind the perfect brew or blend.  If I find a brand of coffee that suits my taste buds, I will happily dabble in trying their different varieties.  One company that I recently became acquainted with is Fire Department Coffee.  I must say that I'm impressed with the boldness and flavor.

Not only am I impressed with their ground coffee and espresso, I'm also bias to the fact that the company is located in Rockford, IL.  I don't live in that city, but do live in Illinois.  Also, I love that Fire Dept. Coffee Fire Dept. supports heroes in need through the Fire Dept. Coffee Foundation. Ten percent of net proceeds are donated to help provide essential resources and assistance to first responders who have been injured on the job, mentally or physically, or who are facing other serious health challenges.  I've worked as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher for 16 years, so I hold other first responders' needs near and dear.

Fire Dept. Coffee offers a variety of blends, with choice of ground or whole bean.  I received the Skull-Crushing Espresso and the Vanilla Bean Bourbon Infused Coffee in ground form.  Admittedly, I've never made Espresso before so I took it to work and had a co-worker do her magic.  She blended it with frothed milk to create a strong, bold-flavored drink.  As for the Vanilla Bean Bourbon Infused Coffee, I also took it to work and have been making cups of coffee for myself and other dispatchers while we labor during night shift.  Although it's infused with bourbon, it's not actually an alcoholic drink (so don't go reporting to HR!)  It's unlike any other coffee I've drank before and it's definitely one of my faves.  There's a hint of vanilla and bourbon flavor, but not overpowering.

I may be no expert and knowing my coffee terms but I'm an expert in what I like to drink.  Fire Dept. Coffee knows their stuff and I was very pleased with how each cup of roasted coffee tasted.  In conclusion, go order yourself some flavorful coffee and help with a good cause.

Vanilla Bean Bourbon is definitely a flavor of coffee that I'd put on my list to try.

This coffee sounds delicious! I have never had anything like the Vanilla Bean Bourbon before, so I would love to try that first.
