Congo Tropicals - Plantain Chips Review

I have a soft spot in my heart for Ecuador.  Jason and I went there for a week on a mission trip in 2017.  It was then that I was introduced to plantains.  They were served at almost every lunch and supper meal.  I grew a fondness for them, so I was happy to receive some plantain chips from Congo Tropicals.  There are three different flavors - Ripe, Salted, and Garlic.  I received the first two for review.

In case you didn't know, plantain is a sugar-free vegetable and is grown in the same way as bananas.  It is nutritionally high in fiber, potassium, and low in cholesterol.  Plantains are always cooked before eating.  The process of making them is similar to that of a potato chip but they contain more vitamins and minerals.

The Plantain Chips from Congo Tropicals are imported from Ecuador, so that brought back pleasant memories for me.  Even if you've never been to Ecuador or even if you've never tasted a plantain, I definitely suggest you give the Plantain Chips from Congo Tropicals a try.  They are a crisp snack that provide the crunch of a potato chip, with a lot less calories.

I received products for review.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinions and results may differ.
