Lisa Hoffman Beauty - Review & Giveaway

 

In my younger years I didn't take very good care of my skin. I would go to sleep with makeup on and I did not have a beauty regimen. My skin, of course, suffered. It's been within the last few years that I've started taking care of my skin and paying attention to how I treat it.

Lisa Hoffman, married to actor Dustin Hoffman, knows how important it is to take care of your body and has her own line of skin care products. Lisa was named "Newcomer of the Year" by Women's Wear Daily in 2007 and most recently was selected for Allure's Best of Beauty 2008 for her Spa Bath Soak.

For those who like to sample products before shelling out the cash for full-size, Lisa Hoffman has created packettes of her skin care products. The packettes are priced very reasonably and give an idea of what the products do. They are also great to take with you when traveling. There are three main categories of products sold: skin care, spa collection, and fragrance.

I received the packettes to review. For each packette, there is a label of what each product is and numbered in what order it is best to be used in. I used them a couple of times in order as they were numbered and, at times, I just used the individual vials without paying particular attention to order. I think it is best to have the full skin care line as it maximizes the benefits. However, you can order the full-size products individually to what is most needed for you.

The Spa Facial Packet features all ten of the Spa Facial formulations. They include exfoliating cleanser, purifying toner, clay mask, anti-aging serum, hydrating mask + booster, hydration booster, lip polisher, lip moisturizer, eye treatment, and moisture seal cream. The hydration booster was my favorite when used alone. It made my face feel so soft. The lip polisher and moisturizer were nice for my chapped lips and made them feel fuller.

The Spa Shower Packette features all five of the Spa Shower formulations. They are the cleansing gel, body scrub, body oil, body lotion, and hand & foot cream. Each formula contains ingredients harvested from the rainforests in a sustainable manner. The Hand & Foot Cream helped keep my hands from cracking and the Body Scrub was amazing for cleansing and removing excess dry skin.

The Vitamin A&C Try Me Kit included a bottle of the Vitamin A & C Serum, as well as sample sizes of all ten of the Lisa Hoffman Day and Night treatments. The treatments include Day Cleanser, Day Toner, Day Cream SPF 15, Day Eye Cream, Day Lip Conditioner, Night Cleanser, Vitamin A & C Serum, Night Cream, Night Eye Serum, and Night Lip Serum. The Vitamin A & C Serum was what I liked best. I usually wear makeup when going places but I found that I could wear the serum alone and it made my face glow and minimized the age spots on my face.

The Spa Bath Packette contains Bath Soak, Body Wash, Body Polisher, Body Cream, and Hand & Foot Butter. I can definitely see how the Bath Soak was a two-time Allure Best of Beauty Winner. Instead of feeling rough and dry, my skin felt soft and silky. I loved the fragrance of it as well. My favorite out of this packette was the body wash. I was able to use just a small amount to get the lather I wanted.

All of the packettes come in a cute, resealable packet so you can keep the samples all in one place and take them with you. Once you find which you like best, you can purchase the full-size products.

I also tried samples of the fragrances. A couple I really liked, and a couple I wasn't overly wild about. The Tuscan Fig fragrance was the one that suited my personality and senses best.
