Moshi Monsters - Review & Giveaway

Moshi Monsters is a virtual online site for children to safely play and learn. Visitors to the site can adopt their very own pet Monster, give it a name and design its color scheme. Each Monster has a lively personality that develops the more it is played with. Monster owners can nuture their pet by solving daily puzzle games to earn Rox, the in-game currency. Rox can be used to buy weird and wonderful things in the virtual shop to keep Monsters healthy and happy. Monster owners can make new friends and connect with existing friends through a wide variety of safe social networking features such as Monster blogs.

Membership to Moshi Monsters is free and children can have access to much of the games and explore most of the world. For unlimited access and more content, paid membership is required. There's so much to do without having a paid membership, so there's no need for parents to feel pressured to get one. However, the benefits of a membership give extra perks such as being able to obtain one-of-a-kind treasures and having access to the Moshling Zoo.

The site is safe for children to use and has a safety program in place. A broadband connection is required to play. The tutorial is helpful for getting tips on how to play.

My four youngest children enjoy playing on Moshi Monsters and it's a site I feel safe letting them use. The puzzles to play are educational and they become more challenging as my child's skills develop. Math, geography, and vocabulary are a few of the subject matters covered in the challenges. The only problem I have is getting my children to stop playing when it's time. They have lots of fun customizing their Monster, decorating its room, playing the games, exploring the world, and tending to their monster to ensure health and happiness.
The monsters themselves do not speak in a language we understand. Rather they speak gibberish and a text box will appear when they are saying something.

Moshi Monster MoPods are a neat cell phone accessory. The mobile phone charms light up and spin when you receive a call, text, email, or voice message. You can attach them to your purse, bookbag, jeans, and more and you'll know when your cell phone is ringing without disturbing others. These are great when you need to have your cell phone on silent and I think that adults could use these cute charms just as well as kids.

Win It!

Two people will each win two full sets of MoPods (six in each set).

I learnt that Rox are the Moshi Monsters equivalent of money. You can see how many you have on the Rox icon to the left of the screen. To spend your Rox, head to the street by clicking on the map button. From here, you can get to all the different shops.
