Walk To School Challenge

I firmly believe that spending quality time with your children is important. I also think it's important for children to be active. Watching TV or playing video games is all right in my book but exercise or active play should also be a big consideration in your child's development.

We all lead busy lives, but can incoroporate quality time with our children by sitting down and having family meals together, if even once in a while. Another way to incorporate quality time is by walking with your child to school, or even to the bus stop. I'll be the first to admit that I'm unable to do those things everyday but I do try to once in a while so communication can flow between me and my children and they know I am available to them.

Green Works, a best-selling line of natural cleaning products, wants to help families get moving towards a more active, eco-friendly lifestyle and have come up with the Walk To School Challenge. Participating in this challenge gives you the opportunity to compete with other schools to win a Green Grant and unlock goodies for your family. The five schools with the highest number of valid Green Footprints at the end of the challenge will receive a $5000 check to enhance the school's environmental and sustainability goals. Clocking your walks, posting healthy tips, sharing your progress, and taking quizzes all help towards the chance for your school to win.

The benefits of this challenge include quality time with your children, exercise, and reduction of your carbon footprint. I have registered for the challenge with my children and they are excited about the possibility of helping their school win. I'm excited for the time spent with them and the health pros involved.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Clorox Green Works and received a $30 thank-you gift certificate. The opinions within this posta are of my own. Your opinions and results may differ.
