Crunchy Onion Sticks - Recipe

I found this recipe from the Taste of Home Slow Cooker Classics Cookbook and created it the other night as an appetizer.

Crunchy Onion Sticks

2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 Tbs. butter, melted
1 tsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
1/4 tsp. onion salt
2 cans (2.8 oz each) french-fried onions, crushed
1 tube refrigerated cresent rolls

In shallow bowl combine the first six ingredients. Separate cresent dough into four rectangles; seal perforations. Cut each rectangle into 8 strips. Dip each strip into egg mixture, then roll in french-fried onions. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased basking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

My notes and alterations:

Rather than use garlic salt and onion salt, I substituted with minced onion flakes. Next time I think I'll try it as the recipe suggests to give a stronger flavor.

Opting for larger portions, I cut each rectangle into five strips rather than eight. The Crunchy Onion Sticks are a delicious appetizer by themselves or with a dipping sauce.
