Random Tuesday Thoughts - The Death of Stuffed Animals

It's been a few weeks since I've participated in Random Tuesday Thoughts, hosted by Stacy Uncorked.  I actually kinda missed it.  If you'd like to play along, head on over there and link up.
Poor Paddington
My dog has an obsession with stuffed animals.  Don't dare leave them lying around.  They will be annihilated!
But, she does have a method to her madness.  The face always goes first, starting with the eyes and nose.
We've been seeing an influx of snakes around my house.  They like to hang out on the east side.  I'm not particularly afraid of snakes, but don't like that they use my yard as their playground.
I took myself to the hospital the other morning.  Thought for sure I was having a heart attack.  It felt like an elephant and its cousin was sitting on my chest.  Turns out my heart is healthy.  But the muscles around my chest wall are inflamed.  It's a matter of taking it easy and ingesting some pills for a while.
Jason went to the specialist the other day regarding his varicose veins.  It's a good probability he'll need surgery to close off the veins that are no good so the blood can be rerouted.  But first, because of the wonderful insurance system, he has to wear medical compression socks for three months.  Which wouldn't be so bad, except it looks like he's wearing thick pantyhose.  If you recall the movie Mrs. Doubtfire where he/she lifts up her/his dress to show the hose, you'll know what I'm talking about.  If that wasn't enough to take my husband's man card away, the compression stockings came in a pink and white box bearing the image of a smiling woman.  My husband isn't a woman, and he sure isn't smiling about it all.  It's gonna be a long three months for him.
Logan received his baptism certificate in the mail the other day.  For every person that gets baptized at our church, they receive a tshirt on the day of and a certificate and DVD of the baptism is mailed to them a couple of days later.
One of my nieces turned five years old the other day.  Her parents had already secured a party setup at the roller rink.  But Zoe was adamant that she was having a bday party at her aunt Terra's house.  Being that I couldn't say no to her request, we held a small party at my house the day before her real party.  We fixed her up a feast of meatloaf, green beans, corn and potatoes, and cornbread.  My husband baked her a cupcake cake and she received a few gifts.  It felt really good when she exclaimed "This is the best birthday party ever!"  It was simple but, to her, it was perfect.

So, tell me, what's your randomness for the week?

That's so sweet you gave her the best birthday! It's the little things like that they they remember forever.

Glad you are ok, even though you had a little inflammation. I am sure you were pretty scared at the time though!

Awww, poor teddy.
Our cat always steals the bath tub plug from the bathroom. so weird.

Bless her little heart - how nice that she wanted something easy and simple and just to be with you.

my middle child is getting a big party this year. we are actually taking a trip as a surprise to all the kids.

That is funny. i deal with the death of squeaky toys by my dog all of the time. Maybe she is too spoiled to get more.

I am absolutely glad to hear that the baptism worked out, bless their souls. I hope everything else works out with ease, and great regards for everyone.
