I've never necessarily minded vacuuming, but I've had my share of vacuums that don't make the job any easier. In fact, I posted last year about one particular vacuum that my husband purchased for an arm and a leg. The price was so high that we had to finance for it. Yeah, crazy! And to top it off, the only thing I liked about that specific vacuum is that it had good suction. Every time I had to use it, I'd say a few choice words because it required going through a million steps to attach and reattach tools. Not to mention that it was ungodly heavy.
A little over a year later, I've discovered my dream vacuum. No joke. And now the other, insanely expensive vacuum that I owned before will more than likely stay in a corner, never to be used again.

I was selected to review the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away Vacuum and it's the best I've owned. I can't rave about it enough. It's a household appliance that's made my cleaning days so much easier. Its features are amazing and its suction is powerful.
The vacuum itself arrived in a large box and needed to be assembled before use. With the specific Shark model I received, it included several attachments. Assembly of the vacuum was fairly easy. I was able to do it on my own, with only one mishap (and that's because I was trying to put the canister on the back). No extra tools were required for assembly. I do recommend reading the instruction booklet before use to get familiarized with all the attachments and ways that the vacuum can be utilized.
parts and accessories of the Shark vacuum
There are a lot of features of the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away Vacuum. For instance, it has an ergonomic handle with fingertip controls. You are able to choose which setting you'd like to vacuum with. The three settings are Thick Carpet/Area Rug, Carpet/Low Pile, and Hard Floor. A handle is attached to the top of the canister to easily carry the vacuum from one room to another. LED lights illuminate when the vacuum is powered on so you can clearly see which areas need cleaned.

A large capacity, bagless canister holds more dirt for less frequent emptying. It's also transparent so you can see when it's filled. It opens at the top and bottom for easy disposal of dirt and debris. Advanced technology separates the dirt from the air, keeping it from clogging the filters. A completely sealed HEPA system captures and holds over 99.99% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum. A washable filter is included that needs to be cleaned every three months.
The four modes of cleaning are Upright, Canister, Above Floor, and Lift-Away. Upright cleaning is just like vacuuming the floors as normal. Above floor cleaning is used with the hose. With canister cleaning, you can convert your upright to a convenient canister. And then there's lift-away cleaning, which is my favorite. The vacuum pod detaches and I'm able to effortlessly clean my stairs and other places without lugging the entire vacuum around.
It took me a smidgen to get used to the advanced swivel steering feature. With other vacuums I've owned, I've had to vacuum in a straight line. With the swivel steering feature of the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away Vacuum, I'm able to maneuver in between and around furniture. More areas of my carpet are reached.
ergonomic handle
The attachments that came with this particular model are the Dusting Genie, Power Brush, Dusting Brush, Upholstery Brush, Hard Floor Genie, and a Caddy. The power brush has come in handy with removing pet hair and the duster genie allows me to reach small places. The other attachments have been quite useful as well. With the caddy, I'm able to keep the cleaning tools close by.
If I had to detail the downfalls of this vacuum, it's that it is somewhat noisy but not any more than other vacuums on the market. Also, the base is where you have to place your foot to tilt the handle back to start cleaning. I'd prefer for there to be a tab for me to do that, so my foot isn't touching the actual vacuum. Compared to the minor downfalls, the positive attributes are phenomenal. I'd absolutely recommend the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away Vacuum to anyone who wants to get a good deep clean on carpet and other surfaces.
vacuum in Lift-Away mode
The new Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away may be one vacuum, but its abilities are limitless. Essentially three vacuums in one, the capabilities will not only leave your floors, furniture, ledges, and even your ceiling fans looking as good as new, you yourself will feel better restored and refreshed for the spring.
