Random Tuesday Thoughts - Smoothies and Umbrellas

It's another edition of Random Tuesday Thoughts, hosted by Stacy Uncorked.  Head over to her page and link up if you'd like to join in.
A friend of a friend had a picnic table she no longer wanted.  We now have it sitting in our yard, providing more seating when we have people over.  Just a couple days after I got the picnic table, I received notification that I won a Mt. Dew patio umbrella from a local gas station contest.  Talk about good timing!
As many of you know, my mother has been living with me for the past few months.  It's been a roller coaster ride of health problems.  She received results from the bone and CAT scan that they've found two spots near her spinal area.  Downside is that they won't do further testing until she gets some strength back.  She's been kinda weak lately and sleeping a lot.  She's also losing weight again.  If it's not one thing, it's another.  If you're the praying kind, the prayers sure would be appreciated.
Speaking of my mom, someone we thought was a friend pulled a fast one on her a couple weeks ago.  While he was at our house with his lady half visiting, he went into my mother's room and stole 57 of her Hydrocodone pills.  He took the opportune time to do it when I left for work and my husband was in the bathroom.  I was beyond livid when I found out.

My husband called him out on it and the guy returned the pills, minus 15 of them.  He didn't think we'd notice.  We thought we'd just chalk it up to life lesson learned and a friendship lost.

To add insult to injury, the guy invited us over to his house just yesterday so we could talk about the situation.  We were there for an hour, still not addressing the elephant in the room.  I went to use the restroom and that's when the shit hit.  That guy had the gall to pretty much say that it wasn't a big deal what he did and he thought we were over it.  In other words, he couldn't believe we were still salty about it.  The absolute nerve of some people!

Suffice to say, him and his woman can both kick rocks.  A three year friendship has been severed and I'm completely kosher with that.
Hot Chocolate and Jason as the announcers
My daughter played her first home game for roller derby on Saturday.  She held her own.  I was one of the scorekeepers and my husband was an announcer.  I'll admit, I was a little nervous about Jason taking hold of the mic.  Last season he tried to help announce with another guy and it didn't go so well.  That time involved Admiral Nelson, and a lot of it.  That was the end of that story!
This time, though, Jason and Hot Chocolate (it's a derby name) killed it!  They received all sorts of accolades for working the crowd and getting everyone pumped up for the bout.
Jason took a ride down our stairs yesterday morning when he got up for work.  For some odd reason, his foot went out underneath him and he took a ride down some stairs.  His pinky toe is now broke and he's got a good show of rug rash.
School's out and I'm stoked.  We're not going anywhere big for vacation but have a lot of little things planned for the summer.
I posted a review on the Nutri Ninja sometime last month.  It's been getting its fair share of use.  I took it to work and we use it almost every night.  I've consumed more fruits this past month than I ever have.  Strawberries, cherries, pineapple, mango, bananas.  You name it, we've thrown it in the Nutri Ninja.  Smoothin' it up, baby!
What's your randomness for the week?  Have any good smoothie recipes you'd like to share?  What's your plans for this summer?  Happy RTT!

First of all, I LOVE your new profile picture. I don't think I mentioned that and thought it worthy of mentioning. ;)

Nice score on the picnic table and umbrella! Perfect timing for that umbrella! :)

Prayers definitely going up for your mom.

UGH! That's definitely no 'friend' - 57?!!! Isn't that a felony?! He's lucky he only lost your friendship and didn't get thrown in the slammer. Some people boggle the mind.

WooHoo! for your hubby redeeming himself and kicking ass with the microphone. And you gotta love someone with the nickname 'Hot Chocolate'. :)

Oh no! Poor Jason! Taking a ride down the stairs is no fun - I did that once on our wooden stairs (no carpet) in our old house...broke my foot in the process, so I feel his pain! Here's hoping he limps along to a fast recovery soon!

School is out here three weeks from Friday - I'm stoked as well. No big major plans, but definitely a few fun camping trips planned I'm looking forward to. :)

I had to google "Admiral Nelson"--now that I know what that is, HAHA!
And Hot Chocolate has to be THE BEST nickname ever.
Prayers for your mom and for the dude that stole pills from her because it sounds like he needs LOTS of prayers for him to be able to do something like that and not feel like the biggest turd in the bowl.

and I kick in the butt to her no good "friend!" oh, I cannot believe the nerve of some people either. Like, you broke the law dude; it IS kinda serious! duh.

I cannot believe it's almost summer vacation time. I have to kick it in high gear if I will have all my projects done before the kids are home. every day. all day. long. :)

I will definitely pray for your mom. You have had one heck of week. Im sorry you had to rid yourself of those friends. Your better off without friends like that. Friends dont steal from friends.
Ive been looking for an apt. I found one in a part of a town I told myself Id never live in. It was all gated and the apt is really nice and it was on the 3rd floor. Im disabled, well immobility impaired. I put $100 deposit to hold, well its been almost 2 wks and I never heard from them. Im going to call to get my money back. I found a cottage that I love so Im sure Im getting it.
Last sunday my 11 yr old niece was baptised. That makes my heart so happy. Both my nieces love the Lord.
Today Im doing laundry. The only plans I have for summer is unpacking and settling in my new home.
