It's National Homemade Cookies Day

Get out your mixer, spatula, and spoon.  Don your apron and make up a big batch of your favorite cookies.  Today is National Homemade Cookies Day!

Here's a recipe for one of my favorite kind of homemade cookies:

Skippy Salted Caramel Candy Bar Cookies

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. Skippy Salted Caramel Peanut Butter
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. mini (or "fun-size") milk chocolate candy bars
1/2 c. peanuts, chopped

Mix together sugar, brown sugar, butter, peanut butter, egg, flour baking powder, baking soda, and vanilla. Chill dough in refrigerator for approximately one hour. Then remove dough and mix in chopped peanuts.

Cut each candy bar in three pieces. Wrap a piece of cookie dough around each piece of candy bar. Dough balls should be about the size of a walnut. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 13 minutes. Remove from oven and flatten with a spatula.

What's your favorite kind of homemade cookies?  Do you like to bake from scratch or get your cookies from the store?

Your cookies sound so good. My husband loves Peanut Butter Cookies. I found a recipe for one egg, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup peanut butter. How simple is that? No additives, just high on sugar but I know what is in there.
