me and my girl
Shelby's birthday was the 14th but we celebrated the day before. Per her request, we went out to the cemetery and celebrated with Mom/Grandma Nancy. It was exactly one year since my mom passed away and I don't know if I could've gotten through it without my kids keeping me laughing and smiling with their nutty selves.
Shelby, Logan and Adam
Three Generations
Me and Shelby had our moment of breaking down and crying while we held each other. The boys looked on awkwardly. I don't think they knew how to handle us. After some tears, we gathered ourselves together and enjoyed the rest of the day as a family.
I went low-budget and purchased a cake from Aldi's. Can't beat the price of $2.99! And, no joke, it's one of the best store bought cakes I've ever eaten.
We spent Shelby's 23rd birthday, both silly and serious, at the cemetery. It's one to remember.

I'm glad she had a good birthday. And that cake price??? Awesome! :)
I'm glad she had a good birthday, and yes, it is a little unusual but I totally understand. Heather was cremated and her urn is right in my room so I am with her all the time.

It must still be so hard for you.I always pray for you & your family.Your family who left this earth to soon are waiting for you in heaven. You have great kids, but you know that better than anyone, right?!
If you like cheesecake, try the Aldi cheesecake sampler, not the frozen boxed one but the one in the refrigerated section with the clear plastic top--oh heavens!
