Book Overview:
Number one New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado will delight you and your family with the silly new picture book I’m Not a Scaredy-Cat. Laugh-out-loud funny, yet filled with an important message that God is near so there’s no need to fear, kids will learn to put into perspective those things that frighten or worry them.
My Review:
A hardcover book written in rhythmic form, I'm Not A Scaredy-Cat shows an adorable cat who is not afraid of anything.....except caterpillars, leaves, elephants, and so much more. The cat tries to be brave but has fears and worries. When he becomes anxious, he says a prayer and feels much better.
Whether warranted or not, most children have fears. They want to be comforted and know that they have support. Although this book may not be the end solution to quashing a child's fears, it's a good step towards it. This book illustrates that fears are normal and that saying a certain prayer may help during those times. The suggested prayer is quick and catchy. It's told three times throughout the book to help with memorization, and I think it's a positive way to help loosen the hold of fear.
One person will win I'm Not A Scaredy-Cat hardcover children's book.

not having friends
They do not like to get up in front of a group of people. We talk about them just looking at a family member and act like they are talking to them.
My daughter is really anxious about something happening to our house -- "Mama, what if our house breaks?"
We've got a question-and-answer ritual -- What if our house breaks?/Then we'll fix it/What if we can't fix it?/Then we'll hire someone to fix it/What if THEY can't fix it?/Then we'll move to a new house -- that we run through every night.
The things that bump in the darkness.

My daughter hates loud noises and a local attraction keeps up all up with it's outrageous noises every weekend and my daughter wakes up so afraid every few minutes. It's horrible seeing a child so scared. :(

My 5 year old is afraid of any unpredictable flying bug. One of my favorite pictures is of her older sister holding a butterfly on her finger with a big happy grin on her face, while the little one looks on in terror as one flies near her head. She'll ride any roller coaster that she meets the height requirement for, but don't let a butterfly near her!
