Book Overview:
Encourage your children’s sense of wonder and faith with I Can Only Imagine, inspired by the hit song by MercyMe. This beautiful picture book will capture your family’s childlike faith and imagination.
I Can Only Imagine asks questions a child might ask and invites families to wonder together: What is heaven like? What does God do? What would it be like to spend a day with Jesus? Children will see that although experiencing the glory of heaven may be far off, we can enjoy a friendship with Jesus every day - right here on earth. Whimsical, playful illustrations and thought-provoking questions make this a book that families will cherish.
My Review:
Bart Millard is a founding member and lead singer of the multi-platinum selling contemporary Christian band MercyMe. If you're not familiar with him that way, you may recall the recent film based upon the story behind his song, I Can Only Imagine. (Great movie, by the way!)
I've sometimes imagined what it would be like when I get to Heaven. I don't fangirl on anyone but I totally want a selfie with Jesus. I'm sure I'll be speechless or stuttering, in awe of His glory.
Anyway, back to the book....
I Can Only Imagine is a hardcover book for young children. The writing style is in rhythmic form. The front has a "To:, From: Date:" page. Some questions and curiosities in the book include:
Do the houses in heaven have big rooms and spaces?
Surely the music in heaven will be grand.
When I get to heaven, can I sit on God's knee?
In the end, we are reminded that we don't have to wait to spend time with God. He's here in our heart and never leaves.
Win It!
