My Review:
A hardcover book that's being released October 9th, My First Book of Basketball explains the basics of the sport in a fascinating and understandable way.
Did you know that the game is divided into four quarters that are 12 minutes long?
Or that if one player makes too much contact with another, the referee will blow the whistle and call a foul?
Or even that anytime there’s a break in play, a new player can come onto the floor and replace a teammate?
You'll learn that and more in this book about basketball.
I confess I know a little about basketball but not all the technicalities, so I admittedly thought this book was interesting (even if it was written for the younger crowd). The realistic pictures of people playing the game, coupled with the cartoon characters and thought bubbles, make this book engaging and interesting.
