Christmas is in jeopardy. Hope and Faith are at an all time low and it seems there's no one to help. But the only elf still standing has two powerful Glimmers to help him save this Christmas.

My Review:

Christmas will be here in less than a month!  A book that is perfect to bring out this time of year, The Glimmers Save Christmas is a part of The Glimmers book series.  This particular book focuses on faith and hope.

Before the story starts, kids are introduced to what Glimmers and Dimmers are.  Glimmers are little beings of light that make everything good glow.  If you are good and make the right choices, you glow with Glimmer light.  Dimmers are what Glimmers turn to if you make the wrong choices.  Dimmers are dark and sad.

The story itself describes how Christmas Town is full of Faith Glimmers and Hope Glimmers.  Except one year was different.  The world became less hopeful and less faithful.  The North Pole wasn't the same, except for one particular elf.  Roger kept his Glimmer light shining bright.  With the help of the Truth, Compassion, and Respect Glimmers and a ton of other Glimmers, Christmas is saved.

I love the overall theme and whimsical illustrations of this book.  It doesn't exactly say why the world becomes less hopeful and faithful and it doesn't exactly say if the world is restored, but I'm led to believe that the many Glimmers who save Christmas are the lights of people who outshine the darkness.

The Glimmers Save Christmas would be a great addition to your child's seasonal book pile!

We've bought some stocking stuffers but nothing else!! We're so far behind and low on money so we'll see how much we get done.
