First Time for Bristol Motor Speedway Night Race

Back in August Jason and I visited my son in Tennessee.  While there, we made a trip to the Bristol Motor Speedway Night Race in Virginia.  It's an annual NASCAR event held once a year.

I'll be honest, NASCAR really isn't my jam but I'm always up for trying most things at least once.  It was a first for Jason and Adam too.  The guys had a blast but once was enough for me.  Not that I hated it but watching cars race around a track for several hours just doesn't do it for me.  I did like the high energy and enjoyed people-watching.

Bristol Motor Speedway is located atop a mountain and, if I learned one thing, it's that walking shoes are a must.  You're almost guaranteed to walk a minimum of one mile before getting to the walkway that goes straight uphill.  I wore flip-flops....guess how that went!

I don't care how tough you think you are, earplugs are also a must.  The entire place rumbles and roars with the sound of race cars.

My favorite part of the whole day?  Spending time with my guys and seeing them smile.

Have you ever attended a NASCAR race?  Have a favorite driver?

I'm not a NASCAR fan but my dad sure was!He liked lots of different kinds of racing. He took me to a local drag racing strip once. NEVER AGAIN! It was so incredibly loud! I'm glad I got to make some memories with him though, just like you did with your guys.

Nascar is not my cuppa tea, but my husband went to the Indy races a few years back and said it was fun, but really loud!
