That One Time We Met Joe Exotic

picture I took in 2006 of Joe Exotic with my two boys

If you've been quarantined for any amount of time, chances are you've watched Tiger King.  I know you've at least heard of it.  It's become the binge-watching sensation.

I actually had no interest in watching the Netflix documentary.  But then my niece mentioned she'd seen it and it surrounded Joe Exotic, the same guy we'd met in 2006 during a "magic show" at our hometown mall.

Lo and behold, I watched the show and she was spot on!  First off, the show just showed me that most everyone in the big cat world is bat crap crazy.  Or, at least, that's the stereotype.  Secondly, it reminded me I'm halfway normal.

Anywho, back in 2006, I took my two boys to watch a Magic Show put on by Joe Exotic and his homies.  I'll admit, it was pretty cool to watch.  My daughter and two nieces watched the show the next day.  And that's where some trouble began....

A few days after my daughter went to the mall, she started texting one of Joe Exotic's assistants (AFTER she and my two nieces went bowling with him that night).  Mind you, she was 12 and he was 21.  Her bio dad found out and brought her to a quick reality.  Shelby's step-dad (my current husband) called this so-called assistant up and threatened to put a quick boot up his arse if text conversation (or any kind of conversation) took place again.  He put the kabash on that real quick!  Years later, I find out that assistant was none other than John Finlay.  Yes, that John...the one married to Joe!  He wasn't "gay" then either.

So, have you watched Tiger King?
Do you think Carole Baskin killed her husband?
Tell me your take on the whole thing!

That is absolutely crazy! Glad the men in your life headed off that train wreck before it could go any further! Drama just follows some people like a shadow, and I think that pertains to almost everyone on that show. I watched it. I had heard some of the stories before the documentary came out, so I thought I'd be prepared, but NOPE! I just kept saying, "Wow." I think Carole's husband was leaving the country to make a life with his newest girlfriend, and somebody on the plane with him, that he thought he could trust, chucked him into the ocean and took his money. And Carole said, "How convenient and good riddance!" but I don't think she made cat food out of him! I think Joe should be in jail but I don't think he should be alone. I have a feeling PETA is going to find him some cellmates really soon because there were lots of people doing wrong by those animals.

Is there a big cat world? Do I even want to know what it's like?? I haven't watched the show at all, but I've seen about 5,000 memes about it and that's almost the same thing.

That's kinda cool that you had a run in with Joe Exotic. He really is bat crap crazy like the rest of them though LOL.
