Introducing The Unofficial ALDI Cookbook: Delicious Recipes Made with Fan Favorites from the Award-Winning Grocery Store [978-1-64604-124-4, $17.95, Ulysses Press, February 23, 2021] by Jeanette Hurt, a full-color cookbook that takes simple, budget-friendly ALDI-brand ingredients and turns them into fantastic dishes.
ALDI started out as Albrecht’s grocery store in 1913 in Germany. Eventually, the Albrecht brothers took over from their mama, and they turned it into Albrecht Discount, or ALDI, for short. In 1976, ALDI opened its first store in the United States in Iowa. Today, the company’s on track to become the third largest grocery chain in the United States, with more than two thousand stores open now.
Fans of ALDI, it’s time to celebrate your love of the best-ever grocery store with a cookbook dedicated entirely to your favorite products. From healthy appetizers to restaurant-worthy comfort food classics and everything in between, you’ll be surprised at the amazing breakfasts, lunches, and dinners you can make after a shopping trip to your local ALDI, including Wine Slushie, Dalgona Coffee Two Ways, Jade’s Jalapeño Dip, Baked Onion Soup, Pancake Cereal, Cake Mix Coffee Cake, Baked Salmon with Honey-Mustard Sauce, Stuffed Chicken Breasts, Cannoli Dip, and much more!
With The Unofficial ALDI Cookbook in hand, it’s never been easier to become an ALDI fanatic!
Other than the fact that the pages don't always lay flat, this cookbook is one of my favorite I've owned. Not only does it have so many recipes (some I've made and more I plan on making) but it also full of tips, pointers, facts and strategies.
The cookbook is divided into different sections, and includes information about ALDI history and pointers. There are 75 recipes and illustrations to help you create a delicious appetizer, drink, or meal.
We've cooked up a few of the recipes already, with plans to make more. A couple that we really like are the Smoked Salmon Dip and the Cake Mix Coffee Cake. The recipes do not require high-dollar ingredients and I've found that it does not cost much as a whole to feed the family.
I'm not a cookbook collector, but I'm sure this is one I will keep and refer to often. There are loads of meals that I can't wait to still try.
Win It!
