Featuring concept art, memorabilia, and original interviews, Disney Princess: Beyond the Tiara explores the legacies of the Princesses and what they represent today.

Everyone knows the Disney Princess characters, but how did they become the cultural icons we know today? From the Princesses Walt Disney and his artists brought to the screen in the 20th century, such as Snow White and Aurora, to the recent additions such as Moana, Tiana and Rapunzel, each Disney Princess character’s influence has expanded beyond their original film. Each of their unique, individual stories create a fabric with the power to inspire our imaginations, spark social conversations, and empower us.

Featured Disney Princesses include:

Moana

Merida

Rapunzel

Tiana

Mulan

Pocahontas

Jasmine

Belle

Ariel

Aurora

Cinderella

Snow White

Organized by themes of origins and inspirations, re-imaginings, toys and collectibles, fashion, music, parks, fandom, and more, Disney Princess: Beyond the Tiara features memorabilia and interviews with Disney historians, directors, voice talent, and fans. My Review:

I know there are die-hard Disney fans and collectors out there. I'll admit I've never been to a Disney park (someday, oh someday) but I certainly adore the movies, characters, and "magic" surrounding the brand.

Did you know that the animators for Pocahontas were inspired by a variety of historical sources, as well as a visit to Jonestown, Virginia?  Or that Ariel continues to be one of the most popular princesses when it comes to toys, dolls, and dress-up costumes?  If you browse through Disney Princess: Beyond The Tiara you'll learn this and so much more.  The book is divided into chapters, with some being about fashion, music, girl power, and origins.

Looking at all the illustrations and reading about Disney princesses in Disney Princess: Beyond the Tiara has been a fun journey. This coffee-table book is loaded with facts and information about the iconic princesses and how they've evolved over time.  Every time I look through the book, it seems there's something new I learn, having missed it the first time through. I've had guests over who've picked up the book and started glancing through it. It's a trip down memory lane for some. The cover design and overall look of the book make it one worth keeping out on the coffee table.

I received book for review.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products or using services.  Your opinion and results may differ.
